There are all sorts of creative ways to incorporate yoga into your kid’s routine. How about you start with doing a few poses when reading stories at bedtime? As one of the leaders for yoga teacher training in Kansas City, our staff at Mindful Child Aerial Yoga loves looking for creative ways to inspire children through yoga.
A few Antarctica inspired books to help get you inspired are:
One Day on our Blue Planet…In the Antarctic by Ella Bailey for ages 4+
Playful Little Penguin by Tony Milton Ages 3+
Lost and Found by Oliver Jefferies
Popper’s Penguins by Richard and Florence Atwater ages 10+
Use these stories as a jumping-off point to practice yoga poses and mimic common animals found in the Antarctic. These yoga poses are meant to invite flow from one pose to the other. In fact, during kids yoga teacher training in Kansas City, instructors and students often work on these techniques in certain classes.
